Running on Empty

Yesterday was one of those 14 hour days. I spent the first part of it at my day job and then headed to 4 hours of Dale Carnegie training. Yep, I volunteered for this duty.

I took the DC course last year and was invited back to work as a "graduate assistant" or coach. This means I spend 4 hours a week as an unpaid helper for the instructor and am frequently put on the spot as an example for the current students. Talk about an out- of- the- comfort zone experience! Anyone who has been through this training knows it takes you WAY out of that zone.

Last night I had 3 minutes notice I was going to do a two minute presentation on a defining moment in my career. I did well but alas, 11 more weeks (and 11 more speeches)!
